Middle School Conference

It was last week but I never got a chance to sit down and express my feelings about the experience I had until now. It was really fun being able to facilitate a workshop with a couple people and also attending workshops that the other high schools put on. I learned a lot about other people and my mind was just further expanded. I got to work with my Leadership peers from Sheldon, Elk Grove, Pleasant Grove, and Laguna Creek. It was nice getting the opportunity to meet and work with new people working toward a similar goal. We all did a great job and this was most definitely a memorable experience. There was one girl in particular that began crying during my workshop. We approached her to ask what was wrong and she said that we just really went into depth on how she was feeling with her issues in life. After the workshops were done and everyone was sitting down to listen to the closing speech, that same girl came up to my workshop group members and I to tell us that she really enjoyed our workshop and was her favorite one she attended all day. I’d say that was the highlight of my entire conference. To know that I put on a 50 minute workshop for this little girl and affect her that much just made all the struggles along the way worth it.
